Well, our local sheriff just got indicted. Seems that two years ago (it is alleged) a couple of deputies took a suspect that was in custody and stripped him naked. Then they handcuffed him. Then they hogtied him. Then they picked him up and slammed him into a wall. Then they slammed him into the bars of a cell. Then they slammed him into the walls of an elevator. He passed out and later died in the hospital.

One of the employees of the sheriff's department allegedly observed this and (again allegedly) was persuaded to keep quiet about it. Everybody involved is looking at several years of free public housing.

Of COURSE you can trust your government to take care of you...
